seeking advices from endocrinologists

hello all, this forum has offered big helps in the past, i really appreciate that.  now, a new issue has just come up - after a series of doctor's office visits, blood work, ultrasound, and finally, the fine needle aspiration, it is confirmed that the dw is with papillary carcinoma of the thyroid.  it's shocking to us, as we have always been living a healthy and active lifestyle.  there were no symptoms upto the date of biopsy; and the thyroid nodules were only noticed on an annual physical checkup...

here is the content of the biopsy report:

(1) diagnosis:
positive for malignancy:  papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

(2) the microscopic description:
the second portion of the specimen is examined as four papanicolaou stain fixed smear, one papanicolaou stain fixed thinprep slide. the smears show numerous epithelial fragments present in a background of blood, inspissated colloid globules, and cellular debris.  the epithelial fragments are small to intermediate size.  these show a significant subset that exhibits nuclear enlargement, nuclear overlap, fine chromatin, small nucleoli, and rare inclusions.  however, these are present in degenerate epithelial cells.

the thinprep slide shows numerous inspissated colloid globules, and multiple fragments of follicular epithelium.  these show a biphasic appearance with most appearing as small nondescript epithelial fragments with orderly bland regular round nuclei.  a subset shows more abundant lightly staining cyanophilic and granular cytoplasm.  they have nuclear enlargement, nuclear elongation, fine chromatin, small nucleoli, and longitudinal nuclear grooves.

these are atypical follicular epithelial fragments representing papilary carcinoma of the thyroid.  dr. suzanne xxx, a cytopathologist, has reviewed this case and concurs.

questions -
if need be, is it best to remove the thyroid immediately because of the biopsy disturbance/agitation?
what need to be cautious about?
what foods to eat or to avoid?

thank you much in advance!!
