早期非小非鳞肺癌术后有近一半会复发, 应该怎么办? About half of early stage non-squamous NSCLC recur after curative resection, however adjuvant chemotherapy improves long term survival only marginally.  Dilemma for both oncologists and patients.

Briefly, this assay developed by Pinpoint Genomics, Inc detects gene expression in resected tumor sample of 11 cancer related target genes (BAG1, BRCA1, CDC6, CDK2AP1, ERBB3, FUT3, IL11, LCK, RND3, SH3BGR, WNT3A) using real-time PCR, with 3 house-keeping genes (ESD, TBP, and YAP1) as reference. Then the patient will be assigned a continuous linear RISK SCORE ranging from 0 to 100, with 0-33.3 considered low, 33.3-66.7 medium and 66.7-100 high risk. 

The selling point for Pinpoint is in that their score correlates very well with actual survival/mortality measurement in both US and China, with cohorts of 433, and 1006 patients, in double-blinded studies.

1) those I/II/III/IV a/b/c/d stagings are ANCIENT and unreliable, so even if your cancer is stage 1a, you are still at risk

2) if the Pinpoint assay says you are medium or high risk, you better start treatment immediately because your cancer is likely undetected metastatic
