I just did some google search and found out that pulmicort is preventive medicine and xopernex is probably same as albuterol. Then I know what could go wrong. When he has asthma attack the pediatrician should give him oral prednisone insead of just inhaling pulmicort. When you say it worked, you just meant he stopped coughing and wheezing. But he never really fully recovered from the inflammation and the long term inflammation and it makes his lung disfunction.
Just my guessing.
advair 100/50 is very minimal. if you want, try a higher dosage. my son's lung is completely normal in the sense of volume and also the shape of the breathing test loop, we still use 100/50 for the winter season.
If I were you, I would tell all the history to his specialist and follow his advice. One time or two times CT is not a concern at all.
Rule of thumb, get the lung function to normal as soom as possible. Good luck
