You need to take two medications, one is antiviral, such acyclovir to decrease the course. The other one is for pain, such as neurontin to prevent neuropathic pain later on. As for the children, you don't have to separate with them if they have had Variella vaccine. Otherwise, be carful. Hope this is helpful.
