The first new patient exam is called comprehensive oral evaluation, the following exams are billed as periodic oral evaluation for routine check.
2. sedative filling is not sedation drug, this is the temperory restoration in order to relieve the pain from your tooth. The dentist remove your decay, and may place remediation material for pulpal, then place temporay filling material. Usually patient needs coming back in several weeks to reevaluate. If no pain afterwards, permanent restoration may be placed. If patient still has pain, root canal therapy will be performed.
3. root canal therapy: remove pulpal and root canal tissues, clean root canals and fill with rubber materials to seal the canal.
Normally the doctor will not prescribe antibiotics for tooth pain caused by pulpitis, because the drug is not effective in getting into the tooth.
