比如hemp的定义，是植物学的定义，是植物学的一个科的植物，而不是一种植物（参考）。

而marijuana的定义, 是这种植物的female hemp或大麻植物（cannabis plant）的干燥树脂质的花蕾或叶子。

从逻辑学来讲，两个词的内涵不同，一起平行比较不合适。
但是，法律对此hemp和marijuana的区别有硬性的规定，就是0.3THC含量为界，是人为的规定，相信对量刑之类的事情会有影响。
