You sounds like you would like to keep the baby. Maybe just trust your OB and wish the best for your baby. I know a few people that were born when their parents were in 40's. Most of them are smart and have good personality. If you want to keep the baby, another important thing is to get your son's support, which in some cases may be not be easy.
