what you did is to make yourself the only beneficiary, the team and the company didn't get any benefit, and apparently, the company wants the works contribute as much as possible. that's why you failed the code of conduct. if you could use your strategic thinking to benefit the team and the company, instead of glorifying yourself only, you would be a hero.
