breast cancer - over-diagnosed and grossly over-treated?

Almost everyone I talked to knows someone died of lung cancer. I know the wife of disgraced John Edwards and Chinese actress Chen Xiao-Xu died of breast cancer, but I didn't KNOW them. Do you KNOW someone that had died of breast cancer?

Yesterday I heard breast cancer is now considered an over-diagnosed disease by some experts.  True? I don't know. But I definitely know lung cancer is an under-diagnosed disease, and grossly under-funded in research. 

Funding per cancer death 1 (lung) : 14.5 (breast)
