This is so interesting. Thank you for sharing. Believe it or not, before root canal + crown, the tooth was fine. never bothered me. I was urged to do the treatments because the filling was too big and cracked. I should have simply said no, if I had known better.
I had a lot of problems after this first and so far only, knock on wood, Root Canal treatment last wnter. First, I endured seven days of severe, trobbing pain to my teeth, jaws and left temper. I never took so many pain killers in my whole life. I went to see the dentist after 3 days of unbearable pain and she prescribed my antibiotics for 7 days (she did not give my any antibiotics since the tooth was fine other than having a large filling that chipped). The pain subsided 4 days after I took the antibiotics. The most horrible experience I have ever had! Worse than the C-section I had a coupld of years ago.
Then the tooth continued to bother me. I could not eat anything with that side of my mouth since it hurt every time I bit anything, even if I was only chewing soft bread. I was told it is normal since it takes time for the crown to adjust. I went to see my dentist three times to do so called minor adjustements to the crown. I eventually switched to a different dentist in the same office. He appeared to be better. After further adjusting the crown, it is better now.
Still, the tooth aches after a meal. It aches sometimes during night time. I went to see a dentist and was told the toothace came from the motar next to it. This one is fine. And I was advised to do a rootcanal on that one.
My, I learned my lesson. Thinking back about all the suffering, I would take my chance, even I might later lose a tooth. LOL
