it's a rather mature and common surgery. And the risk is very low.

My surgeon told me the risk for me to get serious complication is under 1%, really it's slim to none.

Your hu*****and will need to have a chest CT scan before surgery, so the surgeon will have very clear view of the situation to lower the uncertainties.

I stayed in hospital for 5 days. I went back to office in about two months.I actually started to work from home 2 weeks after the surgery.

One thing needs attention is that after the surgery he should not lift heavy stuff. nothing heavier than 20lbs in the first 6 months. After that he should be fine.

I dont know how it works in US, but you should talk to the surgeon before the surgery and bring all your questions to him, and he will explain the whole thing thoroughly.

The surgery is actaully quite long - mine took about 7-8 hours.
