I think over the years a few patients may have benefited from or even have been "cured" with Burzynski's ANP treatment, but the overall chance is not high.  Based on his questionable reputation, and the direct drive to profit, the 20% success-rate estimate he gives to your friend's mom may very well be 2%, or 0.2% in truth.  But then, glioma is just about the worst cancer anyone could have in terms of prognosis.  I hope you/your friend make informed decision
