We are talking about the sacroiliac arthritis including traumatic arthritis, not dislocation. it is rare to have sacrioliac dislocation as you mentioned. but it is very common to have sacroiliac arthritis. the diagnostic method is simple: the patient obtaines the pain relief within 2 mints after the injection of 1-2 ml local anesthetic medication, then the pain comes back follow the medication wear off pattern. NO side effect.
