Here are some comments:
Physicians never deny that there are medical errors that cause patient deaths. As a matter of fact, it is the physicians who have been working hard to document the deaths and trying to find solutions for that. It is not like traditional Chinese Medicine doctors who try to deny the fact that traditional medicine can kill patints.
Among the causes of the hospital deaths in your post, the 4th and 5th can hardly be attributed to physician errors, though they are iatrogenic deaths. For example, there are inherent risk of infection with surgery. If there is a trama patients who need emergent surgery, even there is risk of infection, you still need to perform surgery. Same for cancer.
Yes, negative effects of drugs can cause deaths in a few patients, but if that the treatment is necessary, you still need to use the drugs. For example, if the patient has a cancer which is curable with chemotherapy, even we know chemotherapy can cause lots of side effects, some of which can lead to death, such as decreasing white cells leading to infection, we still need to us it.
As a physician, I understand your point, which is, Modern medicine kills. True, no one try to deny that. However, majority of the negative effects and even deaths come from the treatment that are medically necessary. I really hope there is not deaths related to the treatment, but it is not a reality. Almost every hospital department has a monthly or quarterly conference titled "M&M" (morbidity and mortality) to review severe treatment-related toxicities and deaths. And any clinical trial requires to collect all toxicity data. That is science.
The problem with traditional medicine or proponent of alternative medicines is that they could not prove its effecacy and deny there are toxicities. And remember, a lot of their treatment are not due to medical necessity. Even there is no any toxicity, if the treatment is not a medical necessity, then why do propose it? We should prescribe a medicine only because there is no toxicity if it is effacious.
