Your baby needs to get a referal for a brain MRI. I suspect the baby had subependymal germinal matrix bleed as an infant. How much the baby weigh when he was born? About 80% of the infants weighing under 2000 g at birth would have germinal matrix bleeding. SO the MRI can look at how much damage has caused to the brain and alos can look at brain development especially the white matter tracts. It can of caurse exclude other developmental/congenital abnomalities, etc. Be proactive on this -- I wouldn't buy the argument that there is very little one can do at this point.
