Very interesting discussion. Like you said, for screening purpose it might help in detecting small bowel lesions. But in reality there is not much value. If the bowel is not distended (most of the time unless a gassy guy) then the camera does not see well and there is no way you can tell a benign lesion from a malignant one because all the camera can see is red nodules. Besides, there isn't many pathology in small bowel anyway!
The worst is the camera can get stuck -- there is one case in our hospital where patient has to have right colon resection because the camera rested at the TI for 3 days (well, patient also has cecum Ca).
