The fetus receives only a small amount of scattered (by your body and the shield) radiation from radiography. The dose is higher for direct abdominal or pelvic radiography. Even so, fetal dose is less than one year's groundlevel background radiation dose. It is less than radiation dose received from a transcontinental flight.
