How is the diagnosis made? By MRA, CTA, or angiogram? If the left verteberal artery is already occluded, then you cannot do anything about it but you should be on at least Aspirin >81 mg a day because once the artery occlude there will be clots developing distally and they can get loose causing infarct --- and posterior circulation infarct has a worse prognosis.
