The B mode part of B超 is believed to be safe. However, for every OB ultrasound, you need M mode to detect/document fetal hear beat. M mode US beam focused on small tissue can elevate tissue temperature, among others. So LONG period M mode on fetal heart should be avoided --- don't be too excited of asking the sonographer to let you listening to your baby's heart beat !!!
