从我的理解， number and location of the lesion and cirrosis stages (compensated or decompenstated) 是主要考虑的因素。 我是stage 2, cancer size 3cm located in Section 7, hypertension 5 mmHg. (在公司打中文太费劲， 用蹩脚英文吧。 对不起。)。The transplantation is the best choice. However, i was too healthy to put on the list. So, the liver resection was my doctor's first choice for me. It was my doctor's decision and i did not have other choices.
My suggestions: first, check to see if the patient can be put on the transplantation list. The lesion is 7cm, which is more than 5cm requested in Milan Criteria. Most likely if this patient is in US, he/she cannot be put on the transplantation list. Second, have a thorough exam to find out all of the key numbers, such as MELD, hypertension, condition of cirrosis (through biospy (biospy on the liver, not on the lesion)), etc. If liver resection can be done, it is the second best choice. Third, right away working on the root cause for the cirrosis (Hep B, or Hep C, or others). I had Hep B. I have been taking the medicine for Hep B since my diagnosis and now the virus is not detectable. Fourth, find an experienced doctor. All of the patients are in the doctor's hands. 祝早日康复！
