How do you know you are stage II?

With only biopsy result, you don't know the precise size of the carcinoma, and you don't know the lymph node status either. How could you know you are stage II?

If your cancer is <=20 mm, and no lymph node metastasis, you are stage I.

Did your oncologist tell you that you are stage II?
