medicaid 是给低收入人民的，不像medicare 是到65岁就可以拿，不论收入。

如果你父母拿medicaid, 说明他们没有收入或低收入。如果你继续claim them as your dependent, 那他们就不是 independent low income. As your dependent, you (therotically) need to support them, provide them food/shelter/medical etc.
