钱 means the control power.

You can't eat any penny. But the more money you have, the more power you can control the world.

For the super rich people, they won't / can't spend all money for thier own living. But they can use the money they own to influence the world, like do the politician, advertise their idea, thought, set up the foundation, donation, etc. They can make something happen.
