Which box you suppose input VPDI?

just erase VPDI on that box. But still input the figure on the next field.

If it is really carry over, yes, use override function to add it into state tax directly. I use manual filing. Which means I made a print out together with all copies and mail it out. If you are doing e-filing, I am not sure it will effect the filing or IRS will see VPDI wording missing.
