If you really want to sell, you can sell half of them, but you gain the full amount.
Let me explain: You bought whole land at $250K. Sell half of them for $150K. You gain $25K in cash (to cover the remaining loan or future tax expense etc.). You gained another $25K from the book at the same time because your next half land the price / value become $150K also.
