但是你住的时间长短有关系。比如FL认为你住6个月零一天就是FL resident 了。 假如说你在你原来州只住3个月， 然后file resident tax return， 我不知道你的这个州怎样定义“居民”，会不会查。 

But FL has no imcome tax, what's the harm to become FL resident, if you plan to stay there longer?
