I understand that my AGI does NOT qualify me a Roth IRA contribu

Even my AGI exceeds Roth IRA limit, am I still eligible to open a Roth IRA account? Because I do not have a Roth IRA account, all I want to do is to open a traditional IRA account and a Roth IRA account and then take the advantage of the backdoor.
