kept bringing up the name, Mike Nolan. He used to coach the Broncos so I think that both teams from last night were running similar defense schemes. My question to 49ers' fans, do you miss Mike Nolan?
I liked Mike Nolan when he was the defensive coordinator for the Giants (under the "old" coach Dan Reeve) during 90s. I was kinda disappointed when he departed for the Redskins' job during the Giants regime change. In fact, the Giants did not find another young, energetic defensive coordinator to match Mike Nolan's aggressive attacking defensive style though John Fox was another good defensive coordinator for the Giants.
People praise Jim Harbaugh for turning the 49ers' into a competitor but I keep thinking that Jim inherited the team from Mike Nolan. Mike Nolan built up the 49er's defense. Alex Smith was his pick, so was Frank Gore. I give credit to Jim Harbaugh to re-model the 49er's offense. Heck, even the "bust" Crabtree is contributing under Jim. However, 49er's defense is always related to Mike Nolan.
Am I too bias due to my preference on Mike Nolan?
