1. Player development and ????uation.

How many players has he wasted? It's too many to name a few.

Boozi Wells: he tortued the Mighty Spurs like a bunch of children in last years' playoff. he accepted a lower salary to come to Rockets in hope of a Champion ring.

Result: no playing time throughout the whole season even after he lowered his tone and begged for playing time, but the stupid, egostic Van Gandy refused to do so and probably caused his job (at least I hope so). With head and Jvan failing to pick up their scoring slack, Bonzi could have provided the much needed offense for Rockets. Who can defend him from the Jazz? Fisher and Deron are too short. AK47 is fully occupied with Mac. Boozer is too slow (yes, boozer is quick comparing to Yao, but not to a lighting-quick shooting guard). I don't understand how a coach can hate a player like this. Yes, Boozi had his problems, but it seems to me he had no problem finding playing time with other teams. BTW, with the limited times when he played, he definitely looked like the top 3 player in Rockets.

Mike James. He is the only guy other than Mac and yao who scored consistently against Dallas in that 7-game series. Then he was traded away for Alston. Can you give me a logic reason for that? Not even a single point Alston can be compared to Mike James. Offensively, the only offense Alston has is the 3 pointers and occationally floaters from driving in. Mike has the whole package. Dribble penetration, 3 pointers, post-up plays against smaller guys, stop and shoot, etc. Dallas' players are no-jokes and that's why they are one of the best teams for the past a few years. Mike J came off bench to score on those guys like pick up games.

Defense, Rafer Alston, for most of the time, is a defense liability against opposing PGs. Quicker guys beat him by dribble penetration, steve nash, jet harris, tony parker, etc; stronger guys beat him by posting him up, deron williams, barron davis, etc. He is just not quick and strong enough to be a starting point guard in NBA. There are many backup shooting point guards in this league who are better than him. Can you imagine Deron Williams posting up Mike James? Not in a million years.

Can you imagine what this team can do: Mike James (PG), Bonzi Wells (SG), Tracy macrady (SF), Chack hayes(PF), Yao Ming(C). Except that Yao is a little slower, everyone else is strong and quick. Yao would provide them with height and defense in the middle.

Van Gundy is just a very mediocre coach with no talnet ????uation abilities.

There are so many others who have been wasted on his hands,

V Span, we all saw what he can do in the world championship, but he had tosit his ass on bench for the whole season. He might have trouble adjusting to NBA, but how you can expect him to adjust without any playing time is beyond me. Give him a fooking 10 minutes per game might do wonders for him. Now we might never know.

(What's the guy's name who was drafted the same year as Yao). I just saw him play for the Nets, it seems to me he has found his confidnece and has been contributing to the Nets in a lot of ways. If I recall correctly, he, like many unfortunate others, had to ride the bench under Van Gundy game after game.

Shame on you, Van Gundy. Wasting people's skills is worse than murdering. You may want to 5 Shane Battier for your team, but remember, 5 Shane Battier will not win a champion for you.

Michale Jordan couldn't win a champion with just himself and Pippon. He still needed Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, Luke Looley, Dennis Rodman, John Paxson, Horace Grant and all others to win it all. All of those guys probably can start for most of the teams in NBA at that time. Can you say the same thing with the current Rockets roster?

No team can win with only a 7-man rotation and with only two guys who can score consistently. Not even your name is Michael Jordan.
