Austin Texas:  growing city, more stable and high pay jobs, good econimc enviroment, reutrn on investment is stable supported by inflow of population and job opportunity..  Beautiful weather in winter.

Seattle:  Similar to Austin, inflows of population, good economy and job opportunity, beautiful weather in Summer

The money to buy a retirement house in California good area is enough to buy one home in Austin and another home in Seattle areas.    Then You may enjoy your life and potential to appreciate your investment.
