大约2014年的3月二十几号，想 refinance 一个loan， 但loan agent说lender要求2013 年的tax return 和 tax transcripts. 于是急急忙忙efile 了2013 的tax return （其中还出了点小错误后来又补file了一次）。 IRS说一般efile 以后 2~4周会产生tax transcripts， 于是我就在IRS 注册了一个账户， 可以每天check 一下transcripts 是否available, 大约10天以后，transcripts available 了， 我就赶紧发email让 loan agent 开始行动， 相当于整个过程被耽误了10几天。
当然我是refinance， 耽误几天对我影响不大， 但如若你是buy loan，耽误10几天可能对你会有很大影响。 所以一定要未雨筹募， 提前做好准备， 免得被动!

附： file tax return 后多久会生成transcripts 。
According to IRS:
If you filed your tax return electronically, IRS's return processing takes from 2 to 4 weeks before a transcript becomes available. If you mailed your tax return, it takes about 6 weeks. If you didn’t pay all the tax you owe, your transcript may not be available until mid-May or a week after you pay the full amount owed. Refer to transcript availability for more information.
