小林在湖人这段期间过于着急，没有看清形势，

急于帮助球队提升，献计献策，但忽视了职场中复杂的人际关系。说复杂其实也不复杂，关键是要看清主次关系。目前在湖人，科比仍然是一言九鼎，仍然是他的球队。小林不合时宜的提醒，有时看上去甚至是批评使得科比极为不满。

教练斯科特则对形式看得很清楚，无论是从和科比的交情，还是科比在湖人的影响，都必须要顺着科比。这也就是为什么明眼人都看出来科比效率大幅度的下降，但斯科特仍表示科比还可再打两年。

所以为了维护科比的威信，小林这种职场中的“ trouble maker " 只能清除。实在不行，也必须加以限制以表明教练的态度。这种环境下，使得林的心态受到严重的冲击，场上表现很难出色。这不是打压小林，这是小林应该吸取的教训。
