我有个商标纠纷。一公司告我商标与他們商标混淆。商标局裁决我输。我自己代理自己上诉联邦巡回法庭。
有个小问题，非常想知道怎么回事。
法庭规定对方在今年五月18号得回复我的上诉。

对方没file response till now. 我以为他们放弃了，可是今天他们又file 一个 entry of appearance 加了一个律师进团队 （5/30/2018）, 表面他们没有放弃.
他们没有file motion for extension of time so far 。
我的informal brief of appeal 是4/3邮寄出，法庭4/9收到，对方4/10收到，法庭记录是4/17输入。法庭确定日期文件是4/24 他们有什么理由过了12天还不file response? 时间不够，可以要求延期。他们没有。难道是他们可以定义他们的回复为formal, 所以可以ignore 法庭指定的 file informal response brief?正式回复和非正式回复期限不一样？（40天，21天。怎么算） 他们是个大律师事务所，应该知道怎么做吧？如果错过期限会很麻烦。难道 因为他们的回复是正式的，他们自己可以认定期限？那可能吗？那又是哪天。
很好奇。打电话给法庭，法庭说他们错过期限，得file a motion 解释误期原因，法庭决定是否接受回复。问一律师，律师说他们必须在5月18回复，除非申请延期。非常好奇。到底怎么回事？有专业商标法律师有解吗？
