There is no lay say employer have to pay any package to lay-offed employee any benefit. The government will pay you unemployed benefit since employer asks you to quit at no fault of yours. Why you have to ask employer to admit you has been lay-off. Employer just does not want to hire her anymore, and does not want to admit it is a lay-off for image purpose.
