老杨，请教大学生报税。先谢谢。

My son is attending an out-of-state college. His salary was withheld state tax by that state. What are the options for his state tax return? File as individual at the college state or file return at home state?

Regarding Federal return, from an old post, I know he can file as individual to get partial American Hope Credit as we cannot. From A-Mao's post, it seems another option is to file 1040EZ. If he files 1040EZ, can I still claim him as a dependent?
