楼下农博说到marginal tax rate，问一下tax是各类income的连续函数吗？

我知道marginal tax rates一般是阶梯函数，tax是marginal tax rates的积分所以一般是连续函数

但我现在有些疑惑了。有两个东西似乎不连续：一个是social security benefits，那个provisional income，过一档taxable part跳一级；另一个是Medicare Part B and Part D's IRMMAR (income related monthly adjustment amount)，也是过一档跳一级。不知哪个politition把税法搞成这样，多收入一分钱突然要多交许多税或费，就像量犹太人鼻子宽度那样，过了标准就咔嚓
