MF says trade war threatens China’s growth, pushes for an equitable resolutio
- A new report on China’s economy by the IMF recommends that trade tensions with the U.S. be resolved quickly, without “undermining the international system.”
- “That is not only good for China and the U.S., but also for the international community as a whole,” Jin Zhongxia, executive director for the People’s Republic of China, says in a statement.
- The Trump administration labeled Beijing a “currency manipulator” this week. But the IMF directors say in the report that “estimates suggest little FX intervention by the PBC.”
