请教英文高手:帮导师校对,对书中部分的用法有疑问?

请教英文高手:帮导师校对,对书中部分的用法有疑问?

导师正在出书,帮他校对.对下面两句中的followed部分的用法有疑问?这是独立结构,还是语法有问题?
因为记得GMAT考试中有"独立结构"的说法,例如这样一句话:
He traveled the Missipi River, only armed with a bag and two guns.(他穿越密西西比河时,只带了一个袋和两把枪)

下面两句中的英文是原文,中文是我的解释.
1.In the chapter,the priciple of A is introduced,followed by an analysis on B.
(这一章,介绍A理论,随后对B进行分析.)

2.This section presents a commonly-used C method,followed by a modified C with D.
(这部分阐述了常用的C方法,然后用D对C方法进行修改.)

找了好多资料,仍不能确定,所以请高手指点.万分感谢!!!
