Enjoy it when you can

It is a part of big 4 life. As managers, we understanding that you have little control over your schedule when you are new. Don't worry. However, you may want to consider doing the following to show your initiatives:

1. Keep all your managers/seniors informed of your availability.
2. Offer to help them with PD (practice development) work such as writing proposals or doing research on potential clients
3. Use the down time to study for professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, etc..
4. Keep track of latest news and development on the major clients for your group. Send out email with these information to people who are currently working on the engagements.
