never been a manager/leader - doesn't matter, everthing has to start from somewhere

being nice - good, keep doing it

don't know what to say most of the time - it's not necessarily a bad thing, depends on how you "use" it

bad communcation skill in English - improve it

be appointed as a team leader - congratulations, you earn the trust from your boss

now, things you can do:

about your team members: who is strong in what, strength and weakness of each member
about your boss: talk to him and learn what he expects of you
project: keep a project plan, learn in detail project progress, report to your boss periodically about the progress.

to other people; always be respectful, keep other people's dignity in mind, be helpful to others, remember critisizing is not your job before you become a boss, you are getting there, but not quite there yet.
