Here is the trick: at the meeting with your boss, you smile and listen, then you smile and listen again!:), don't talk too much, ok? Yup, agree to everything your boss says, ok?

Don't take it serious about "permanent job", there is simply no such thing (and there shouldn't be something like that, otherwise people will become really bad and have no use at all).

If I were you, this is what I would do: 1. do whatever the company/boss wants you to do (reason? -- the high pay); 2. Never work over-time (reason? -- you lose the room to move on for a good deal, you need time to think, research and look...); 3. Be flexible, if you have a better opportuty then just go (even if your boss wants to keep you), but if current company/boss recognizes your value and offer you something without knowing you're looking, you need to rethink......and seriously evaluating whether it's a decent opportunity.
