I do believe you are partially responsible for the absence and accountability.

1. You should always call your boss if you are sick or work at home.

2. For the accountability (complete the project on time), you should call and e-mail your boss to mention the issues that will delay your on-time delivery for the projects.

Of course, it doesn't matter if you have a good relationship with your boss or your boss is nice. But if you give them excuses, you have nothing to say but admit your mistakes.

Also, you should not be emotional to resign right away. If you have money or don't care about this job, it's OK. However, if you want to find another job, it is better to stay. At the same time, look for the new job.

In all, communication is the key. Most Chinese are too shy to stand up to say what needs to say. They think if they can do the jobs, everything is OK. You need to take notes to record what you accomplish, how much you save and how you do it. By doing so, you can talk to your boss or boss' boss or HR when it's time. Otherwise, nobody will know what you are doing. The only thing they remember is what you made mistakes.

Job is just a job. You do the job for living. You cannot take it too seriously and emotionally.
