Salary negotiation....

I had an interview with an ideal company about two months ago but they couldn't make offer at that time and said that they will make offer later due to the company hiring frozen. Now, I started my new job one month ago but my ideal company made me an offer now. I told them that I can not start until December since I would like to at least finish the half-year project that I am leading before I leave the new job (to keep good reputation in the area and gain some experience from the project). My ideal company said it is ok to start in December although they want me ASAP.

I asked $80,000 (my current package base salary $69,000 + 15% bonus) and they offered back $70,000 + maybe 5% - 10% of bonus (most likely no bonus in this company from what I heard).

My questions here:
1. Should I counter offer back at $75,000? $75,000 is still not high given my experience and the high demanding to this area. Since $70,000 is kind of low to my experience (my recruiter suggested $80,000).
2. Should I ask the sign-on bonus? The industry-wide standard is $5,000 to $10,000 sign-on bonus.

The reasons that I like the position:
1. It is a supervisor role - I will supervise two employees and can gain some management experience;
2. It is a start-up unit and I will gain some start-up experience and I should be the manager of the unit after 6 months or so.
3. Not much work pressure environment as my previous company - I can spend more effort on my family and enjoy more life.

We are a little concerned that they will take the offer back if I negotiate since I kind of negotiated the starting date. Plus, I just got married and both my hu*****and and I don't care much about the $5000. But, we do concern a little under-paid salary will impact the view of my personal value and the salary of my future job if I am going to change job in the future.

I have a friend who is a manager told me once that some companies do respect reasonable negotiation. Given the current economy, my recruiter suggests $72,000 to $74,000 is very possible although still a little low. But, the job market is not so good and it can be different story now.

Does anyone who happened in the similar situation as the hiring manager role and would like to share your opinion/view? Any other comments are welcome too.

Thanks!
