Not to make any less of the other linguistic giants on this forum, I thought you were one of the top experts here on this subject, and as such, if anybody perfectly understands any of Quackie's more obscure phrase choices, you would be among them.

At any rate, since Quackie is nowhere to be seen this morning, I will venture a guess on his behalf:

As you wrote, "stand on its head" means making an idea the exact opposite of what it is. By "standing writing chore on its head," therefore, Quackie simply meant to treat the chore of writing as a fun thing to do; hence, the second part of the title, "have fun."

Now, Quackie, correct me if I am wrong - if you dare, that is!
