觉得你说得很有道理

I totally agree with you. This is exactly what I've been debating about. Between the sacrifice in life style and this life time opportunity, it is really hard to choose.

Exactly as what you said, I told myself so many times that if I take the job and it doesn't work out, it just means that I will lose some money and live in a sacrificed life style for a while. However it is not difficult for me to go back to my current job level and life style. I can probably find another job at my current level in a few weeks.

On the other hand, if I do not take the job, I will probably wonder for the rest of my life that if I had taken that position I could be much more successful. The fear of regret is why I'm struggling right now.

In addition, this is a Director level position at a large company, and the reason I say it's a life time opportunity for me is becaus it is not something that one will run into easily. I was presented with this opportunity only because one of their VPs is a former colleague of mine. He worked with me and was very impressed by my performance and capabilities and he recommended me to the hiring VP.

The other thing is that even if it doesn't work out, I will still have the experience and be able to apply for another Director level position. But at my current level, probably no one will even consider my application for a position two or three levels up.

The hardest thing for me is that personally I don't think I am career oriented person. Even though I never had problem finding a job, I never take a job very seriously. Then it comes to this, I'm not sure I'm fully prepared for the change.
