May I ask you what industry or sector you are in? Financial services, biotech or IT? Does the VP (you future boss) report to CEO?

I can understand it is really hard to resist once in a life time opportunity. I would take it if I were you especially you don't have kids. I would never take it if you need to separate with kids, but hu*****and, it is not a big of deal for couple years. This is just my 2 cents.
I took a 'too good to be true" career opportunity couple years ago. It was really painful and challenge process but I also grow a lot. I never regretted even I worked so many hours in past 2 years. If I stayed with my last job, my salary and knowledge will be much less than my current level.
