$14 trillion debt is a pcs of cake. In fact, for most families with annual income of $100k, majority owes >$300k of debt (mortgage, student loans, loans for vehicle and credit cards). I don't feel not affordable at all.  The problem is that US bank is able to finance us all these loans. In countries like China, people could not even get loans for college, medicals and credit cards.
