Do not buy just for tax deduction.

If you live in Washington you probably know that the housing market's downturn in WA is not as bad as in many other states.

Most importantly,  the income tax proposal, 1098, is to be voted in Nov. in WA. If passes you may lose the benefit of real estate tax deduction because Federal Tax Law only allow either income deduction or real estate tax deduction.  Not both.
