treatment for flooding

one of my rental home got flooded today. Water flushed from the toilet and flooded the hallway and two bedrooms. My handyman sucked six buckets of water but
the carpet is still soaked

The homedepot guy recommend me taking out the carpet and pad and let the floor dry and then reinstall the pad/carpet. I know this is a good solution but too expensive.

My handyman recommend a company called Stanley Steemer to clean it.

Can any of the landlord share your experience and comment?
