is that depends on what your goal is, wether you want to expand your rental biz, how many units you want eventually. I didn't find a formula, but my purpose of buying rental properties is to protect me from inflation (where my cash goes) instead of developing a business (which I'm not capable to do). So I've decided to keep my loan minimum and rental properties minimum.
